Not just Boracay...
If you’re flying through Singapore’s Changi Airport from 1 August 2025 onwards, your layover is about to get a whole lot more exciting. Changi is launching its new Free Singapore Tour: Sentosa Edition, inviting travellers with at least 5.5 hours between flights to swap airport terminals for beaches, immersive attractions, and stunning coastal views — all for free.
This 2.5-hour guided adventure is a bite-sized introduction to Sentosa, Singapore’s iconic island escape. Once a quiet military outpost, it’s now home to sandy beaches, lush gardens, and some of the country’s biggest attractions.
The tour is designed so you can enjoy the highlights without worrying about missing your next flight. It includes airport pickup, transportation, and a guide to make the most of your time.

Snap the must-have Universal Studios globe selfie and wander past attractions like Adventure Cove Waterpark and the Singapore Oceanarium. It’s also where you’ll find several halal-certified eateries, perfect for Muslim travellers.

Unwind on this lively beach where you can sunbathe, join a game of beach volleyball, kayak, or paddleboard. If you’d rather relax, there are cafés and beach bars (including halal-friendly options) for a quick bite or refreshing drink.
Those joining the tour before 31 August 2025 will also get to enjoy a stop at a Peranakan-inspired light installation — a dazzling display of colourful digital projections celebrating Singapore’s cultural heritage.
Got an evening layover? You can upgrade your experience with tickets to Wings of Time, Sentosa’s open-air night show featuring fireworks, lasers, music, and water effects — a spectacular way to wrap up your stopover.
The free Sentosa Island tour is open to all transit passengers at Changi Airport who have a layover of at least 5.5 hours. Travellers will also need to ensure they have a valid entry visa for Singapore, if their nationality requires one.
Booking is easy — you can reserve your spot online in advance via the Changi Airport website, or register in person at one of the Free Singapore Tour booths located within the airport’s transit areas. Spaces are limited, so pre-booking is recommended, especially during peak travel seasons.
The tour itself runs for approximately 2.5 hours, excluding the time needed for immigration clearance. Best of all, it’s completely free of charge, though passengers have the option to purchase tickets for the Wings of Time night show if they want to extend their experience.
For Muslim travellers, Sentosa and Changi Airport offer plenty of conveniences to make your layover smooth and enjoyable. Dining won’t be an issue, as Resorts World Sentosa is home to halal-certified eateries such as Malaysian Food Street and Sedap Feast. Changi Airport also has numerous halal-certified restaurants, perfect for grabbing a meal before or after the tour.
When it’s time to perform your prayers, you can find dedicated prayer rooms in every terminal at Changi Airport. If your layover allows more flexibility, there are also mosques within a short drive from the airport.
As for Siloso Beach, the atmosphere is family-friendly and suitable for modest travellers. If you’re looking for more privacy, you can always unwind in shaded areas or stroll along the quieter stretches of the coastline, away from the crowds.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a frequent flyer through Singapore, this tour is a stress-free way to explore one of the city’s top attractions without the cost or planning. Instead of waiting in a lounge, you can tick off Sentosa’s highlights, grab a few Instagram-worthy shots, and still make your flight with time to spare.
