F1 Singapore Guide: Halal Food to Eat & Places to Pray

The Formula One (F1) Singapore Grand Prix is an event like no other, filled with entertaining performances, interesting merchandise and of course all the racing action. It may already be in its 12th year running, but the hype and excitement accompanying this night race show no signs of slowing down.

How to Get There?

The Marina Bay Street Circuit Centre is within walking distance from downtown Singapore – travellers can take the MRT, bus or taxi. It is highly recommended to take the public transport. Train services at City Hall MRT station will be extended until 12.30am on Friday and Saturday, and 12.45am on Sunday.

If you are flying, you can take the MRT to Tanah Merah MRT Station, which will then connect you to any part of the city. Alternatively, take bus 36 departing from Changi International Airport Terminal 2 which will take you to the city centre.

If you are taking the train:

  • Alight at City Hall MRT Station (Exit A, North-South, East-West Interchange) and
    take a 5 to 10-minute walk to Gate 3B (Stamford).
  • Alight at Raffles Place MRT (Exit A or B, North-South, East-West Interchange) and
    take a 10-minute walk to Gate 5 (Fullerton).
  • Alight at City Hall MRT Station (North-South, East-West Interchange) and
    take a 10-minute walk through City Link Mall and take a 10-minute walk to Gate 7 (Marina Square).

1. Makansutra Gluttons Bay: Old Satay Club

Have your meal under the stars as you take in the breathtaking views of Marina Bay while tucking into good ol’ Satay. There are also other halal eateries in Gluttons Bay, such as Syifa’ Satay and Matahari Chicken Rice.

2. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Beanstro

If you are looking to relax and take a breather, head to this cosy café where you can dine beside the indoor canals in world-renowned Marina Bay Sands The Shoppes. Here, you can sink your teeth into Western cuisine such as Pan-Seared Salmon and Beef Short Ribs, and finish your meal with a selection of cakes.

Tuck into grilled and steamboat delicacies with your family and friends, with a fresh selection of meat and seafood that you can grill yourself. 4. Chic-A-Boo

7. PappaMia

8. Cajun on Wheels

A great place for gatherings before heading off to watch the race, this child-friendly restaurant is a halal Louisiana-style seafood restaurant. There are a variety of sauces to have your seafood with, such as their red curry sauce, and the salted egg yolk sauce which is a crowd-pleaser.

9. Old Chang Kee

Where to Pray?

Do check with the staff on-site if there are any available prayer spaces around the circuit area. Muslim travellers can also find prayer rooms at nearby attractions and shopping malls namely Singapore Flyer, Suntec City and Marina Square.

Singapore Flyer

The musollah is situated on Level 1 West Promenade, opposite the ATM machine. For further assistance, you may go to the Guest Services Lounge on Level 1.

Marina Square Shopping Centre

Go to Basement 1 carpark and find the prayer room which is located near Lot 67. Prayer mats and garments are provided for use.

Suntec City

The musollah is found at Suntec City Tower 3, Level 3. Go to Lobby Q and you will find the musollah behind a white door across the lift. Prayer mats and garments are provided for use.

Millenia Walk

The musollah is located at the carpark on Basement 1. Look out for parking lot 27. 

Marina One

Take the lift or escalator at East Tower to Basement 2. Look out for Myeongdong Hair Studio and keep walking straight towards Nail Bliss, and continue walking straight until you see the musollah sign.
