Not just Boracay...
There’s something truly magical about the homecoming of a loved one returning from Haj. The spiritual journey to Makkah isn’t just a deeply personal milestone for Muslims — it’s also a cherished family moment, often filled with warm hugs, heartfelt du’as, and… in this case, a whole herd of camels!

At Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), a grandfather recently stole the spotlight when he walked through the arrivals gate not with real camels (don’t worry, KLIA doesn’t allow those!) but with a dozen plush camel toys draped across his body. The adorable scene was captured in a one-minute TikTok video by @nd_kh4n, which has warmed hearts across Malaysia.
As he pushed his luggage trolley alongside his wife, the sight of those stuffed camels swaying with every step turned heads and drew smiles from fellow travellers. But the real magic happened when his grandchildren — a cheerful group of little ones — sprinted toward him, giggling and squealing as they each claimed a soft camel from their doting Tok Wan.
For many Muslim families, the return from Hajj is more than just a reunion — it’s a celebration of faith, family, and gratitude. Pilgrims often bring back gifts like dates, Zamzam water, prayer beads, or souvenirs from Makkah and Madinah. This grandpa, however, went above and beyond, ensuring no grandchild felt left out by gifting them something playful to remember the occasion.
The video quickly went viral, with Malaysians praising the grandfather’s thoughtfulness and humour.
“The grandfather’s love for his grandchildren really shows. He made sure no one was left out,” wrote @emysayang.
@Azida Aida joked: “If my dad went for Haj, does that mean he has to bring back 40 camels too?”
Others, like @The Moya Lens, were amused at his attention to detail: “It’s adorable that he remembered how many grandchildren he has. If it were my grandfather, he’d probably lose count!”

For Muslim travellers planning their own Haj or Umrah, this video is a gentle reminder: the pilgrimage isn’t just about rituals — it’s also about the memories you bring back. Whether it’s a humble bottle of zamzam water or a quirky camel plushie, these souvenirs carry more than material value. They hold a piece of the Holy Land and, more importantly, the love that binds families together.
