Not just Boracay...
Good news for Muslim travellers flying with pets! Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has just launched China’s first-ever dedicated pet terminal, making it so much easier (and more comfortable) to travel with your furry companions.

This brand-new terminal is a one-stop hub for all your pet travel needs — from quarantine and check-in to boarding and grooming. It spans over 2,000 square metres and is designed to provide a stress-free experience for both pets and their owners.
You can now book everything online using WeChat mini-programs like Baiyun Pet Terminal — including pet check-in, cage rentals, and even pick-up services. What used to take a week can now be sorted in just two days.

Currently, the terminal supports pet-in-cabin flights on select routes, such as Guangzhou–Shanghai. Special check-in counters and waiting areas with massage chairs and pet zones ensure both you and your pet can relax before boarding.
As a Muslim traveller, you’ll appreciate that Guangzhou Airport is already known for being Muslim-friendly. It has halal dining options, prayer rooms in both terminals, and multilingual signs — so you can move through the airport with ease and peace of mind.

The terminal also features a “star-rated” pet hotel with themed rooms for cats and dogs. Pets are pampered with sofas, fresh meals, grooming services, and even temperature-controlled oxygen cabins to ease travel stress.
Owners can enjoy a VIP lounge while waiting, and even check in on their pets via video call after check-in. Hygiene and cleanliness — key values for many Muslim travellers — are a top priority here, with 24-hour air purification and strict sanitation protocols in place.
Whether you’re travelling long-haul or planning a domestic trip, this new pet terminal makes Guangzhou a great starting point for Muslim pet owners. With halal facilities, prayer rooms, and now dedicated services for pets, it’s a thoughtful step toward more inclusive, animal-friendly air travel in China.
