11 Mosques in Singapore That Allow Muslimahs to Perform Friday Prayers

Although Jumu’ah prayers (Friday prayers) is not obligatory for women, it is certainly permissible for women to perform the congregational prayers if they want to. In fact, women used to attend the Jumu’ah prayers in the mosque of the Prophet (PBUH) in the past.

Also – just in case you’re wondering – if a Muslimah performs Jumu’ah prayer, it is sufficient and she does not have to pray Zuhur. 

There are many benefits to be reaped during Jumu’ah prayers. One of them is that the steps taken to reach the mosque for Jumu’ah prayers are equivalent to the reward of praying qiyaam and fasting the whole year. Listening to the Khutba before Jumu’ah is also beneficent for you.

However, due to understandable space constraints, most mosques in Singapore do not provide a space for female congregants. But Alhamdullilah, here’s a list of mosques that allow Muslimahs to perform Friday prayers: 

South Cluster

1. Al-Amin Mosque

Muslimahs can make their way to Level 3, where an area will be partitioned for female congregants to perform Friday Prayers.

Al-Istiqamah Mosque reserves room number #02-05 (on Level 2) for Muslimahs to perform Friday Prayer.

3. Jamae Chulia Mosque

Muslimahs can perform Friday Prayers at the ladies’ prayer hall which is on the right side of the mosque upon entry.

4. Mujahidin Mosque

The prayer space for female congregants during Friday Prayers is at Level 3, Classroom 315.

5. Omar Kampong Melaka Mosque

Muslimahs can perform Friday Prayers at the usual female prayer section of Omar Kampong Melaka Mosque, on the first level of the two-storey annexe building located on the left.

6. Al-Muttaqin Mosque

The prayer space for female congregants during Friday Prayers is at the multi-purpose hall on Level 2.

7. An-Nahdhah Mosque

To get to the female prayer space during Friday Prayers, use the lift on Level 1 to get to Level 3. There is a white partition door which will lead you to the prayer space for ladies.

East Cluster 

8. Darul Aman Mosque

Darul Aman Mosque provides several spaces for Muslimah for Friday prayers. You can find them on Level 2 and Level 3. On some days, there is also a room on the first floor and some partitioned area in the main hall

Note: On non-Islamic public holidays falling on Fridays, the entire mosque will be for male congregants only.

9. Kampung Siglap Mosque

The female prayer space during Friday Prayers is at the usual Muslimah Prayer Hall located at Level 1 of the left-wing Main Prayer Hall.

10. Mydin Mosque

The prayer space for female congregants during Friday Prayers is on Level 2, behind the curtain. There is a female toilet available at the same level. 

Note: As the prayer space for female congregants is limited, it is advisable for Muslimahs to come by 12.30 pm.

11. Al-Iman Mosque

To get to the female prayer space during Friday Prayers, proceed to Level 3 where there are prayers areas allocated for Muslimahs.
