Although Jumu’ah prayers (Friday prayers) is not obligatory for women, it is certainly permissible for women to perform the congregational prayers if they want to. In fact, women used to attend the Jumu’ah prayers in the mosque of the Prophet (PBUH) in the past.
Also – just in case you’re wondering – if a Muslimah performs Jumu’ah prayer, it is sufficient and she does not have to pray Zuhur.
There are many benefits to be reaped during Jumu’ah prayers. One of them is that the steps taken to reach the mosque for Jumu’ah prayers are equivalent to the reward of praying qiyaam and fasting the whole year. Listening to the Khutba before Jumu’ah is also beneficent for you.
