In a bid to continue its tradition of supporting Muslim passengers who fast during Ramadan, Qatar Airways has upped its service standards multifold by offering special Iftar boxes. These boxes feature Qatar Airways’ signature colours and are inspired by Arabian calligraphy.
If you’re travelling on routes across the Middle East, Algeria, Tunisia, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, you can get your hands on these Iftar boxes. Moreover, the boxes are offered in addition to Qatar Airways’ usual meal service for those who are not fasting.
Since travelling between time zones can pose to be very challenging, Qatar Airways has made it easier as the cabin crew will make an announcement and serve the Iftar boxes at an appropriate time during the flight. Passengers will not have to go through the fuss of calculating the hours or checking the time.
Each box contains a selection of sweet and savoury delicacies. First and Business Class passengers can expect a selection of crudites, hummus, mini Arabic bread, chicken shawarma, focaccia with mozzarella, olives, dates, banana, fresh laban (yoghurt) and water.
Meanwhile, Economy Class passengers can enjoy their boxes filled with focaccia with mozzarella, apple slices, mixed nuts, finger baklava, dates, shortbread, marble cake, fresh laban and water.
“We are pleased to be able to continue our tradition this year of offering our passengers a delicious and refreshing way to break their fast while travelling. The Holy Month of Ramadan is an important time for a great number of our customers, and we are delighted to provide a service that is tailored to the needs of those who are fasting. We invite all passengers to embrace this special time of the year with this selection of items designed specifically with the fasting passenger in mind. On behalf of Qatar Airways, we extend to all warmest wishes for a Ramadan Kareem.” – His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive.
