If you love nature and adventure, this destination should be on your list. Within the city, there’s plenty of culture to explore too: from the elegant Maimun Palace to the Grand Mosque and the historic Tjong A Fie Mansion, a reminder of Medan’s multicultural past.

Situated in South Sumatra, Palembang has long been a centre of trade and culture. Today, it’s known for its lively traditional markets, river views, and historical landmarks like the Great Mosque of Palembang and the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum. Foodies will also love trying the local specialty, pempek — a savoury fish cake that’s a must-eat for any visitor.

Tickets start from MYR299 (≈ SGD84) one way — a great deal for an off-the-beaten-path destination rich in heritage.

Semarang is one of those cities that beautifully blends cultures. You’ll find stunning Dutch colonial buildings, vibrant Chinatown streets, and striking architecture like the Great Mosque of Central Java. One of the must-visit attractions is Lawang Sewu, a historical building turned museum that’s both mysterious and photogenic.

With fares from MYR269 (≈ SGD76), Semarang is an easy and affordable gateway to Java’s cultural heartland.
