Not just Boracay...

2025 marks 20 years of magic at Hong Kong Disneyland, and the park is throwing a year-long party to celebrate. From dazzling new shows and larger-than-life parades to glowing drone displays in the night sky, the entire resort has been refreshed for the milestone. There’s also a slate of limited-time food, commemorative merch, and updated photo spots designed to bring a celebratory feel to every corner of the park.
For Muslim travellers, this milestone year also brings thoughtful touches that make the experience smoother — from halal-certified dining options to easily accessible prayer facilities within the resort area.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or revisiting a childhood favourite, this anniversary brings with it a blend of nostalgia and spectacle. Here’s everything to look forward to across the resort this year.

The daytime kicks off with a new castle-front performance titled Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle. Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, Goofy, and a few Disney princesses take the stage in sparkling new outfits, backed by oversized props and energetic music. It sets the tone for a day that’s more theatrical and interactive than ever.
Later on, Friendtastic! brings a parade of colour and characters to Main Street. With 11 floats and over 100 performers, it’s the park’s most ambitious parade yet. Duffy and all six of his friends appear together on a float for the first time, while Pixar favourites like Mike, Sulley, and Woody make high-energy appearances. There are also new additions from Zootopia and Big Hero 6, plus plenty of small details to spot along the route.
For Muslim travellers visiting during prayer times, nearby rest zones within the park make it easy to pause between performances. The resort provides designated prayer rooms equipped with ablution facilities, located near the park’s entrance area and close to Explorer’s Club Restaurant in Mystic Point.
As night falls, the celebration builds to Momentous: Party in the Night Sky, an expanded version of the park’s signature nighttime show. Projections light up the Castle of Magical Dreams and sweep across Main Street, joined by lasers, fountains, pyrotechnics, and choreographed drones. Highlights include a wave sequence inspired by Moana, glowing marigold petals from Coco, and a dramatic finale starring the Disney villains. The show features over 200 new character appearances, making it one of the most visually packed Disney shows to date.

Across the park, restaurants are getting into the party mood with anniversary-exclusive menus. At Royal Banquet Hall, families can share the Party Family Feast, while the Main Street Corner Cafe is serving a 20th anniversary-themed high tea set hosted by Coca-Cola.
For something more indulgent, the Mickey and Friends Giant Sundae is built for sharing, with a presentation that’s clearly designed for both photos and flavour.
Muslim visitors will be pleased to know that Hong Kong Disneyland offers halal-certified meals at selected dining spots such as Explorer’s Club Restaurant (Mystic Point), Tahiti Terrace (Adventureland) and the newest Wayfinders' Table (Moana-inspired). Dishes include favourites like halal chicken curry, biryani, and roasted chicken leg sets. Each halal-certified restaurant is clearly labelled, and prayer spaces are conveniently located nearby — perfect for travellers planning a full day in the park without needing to leave the resort for meals.
This year’s celebration comes with over 300 new merchandise items. Visitors can shop for light-up headbands, glittery mini party hats, and plushie accessories dressed in party wear.
Even the park tickets have had a makeover, printed with Mickey, Duffy, and friends in their 20th anniversary looks. These are designed as limited-time collectables.
For those looking for thoughtful souvenirs, consider picking up halal-certified snacks or non-alcoholic Disney-themed beverages available at select stores — perfect for Muslim families bringing a piece of the celebration home.
With balloons, arches, and themed backdrops appearing throughout the resort, this is one of the most photo-friendly versions of the park to date. The Castle Hub now features a colourful, balloon-filled centrepiece, while Town Square has an oversized Mickey head installation. Character meet-and-greets also come with costume updates — Mickey and friends are all wearing outfits created just for this year!
If you’re using Disney PhotoPass, you’ll also get one complimentary digital download. It’s a small but useful way to hold on to your favourite moment.
For Muslim women who wear hijab, Hong Kong Disneyland’s photo zones are spacious and comfortable, with shaded areas ideal for modest visitors looking to take breaks or freshen up between photos.
If you’re planning a visit before the end of the year, there’s a special promotion that lets you add a second day of park entry for just HK$100 (about S$17) on top of a regular one-day ticket. This offer runs until 31 Dec 2025.
Visitors heading to the park before 27 Sep 2025 may also receive a complimentary 20th anniversary mini party hat with selected one-day tickets, while stocks last.
Alongside the anniversary content, the park’s regular highlights remain in full swing. World of Frozen, which opened late last year, is the first and largest Frozen-themed land in the world. Popular attractions like Mystic Manor, Big Grizzly Mountain, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle continue to draw both first-time visitors and returning fans.
For Muslim travellers staying nearby, Disney Explorers Lodge and Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel both offer easy access to halal food options and prayer facilities. The hotel concierge can also provide qibla directions, prayer mats, and dining recommendations tailored to Muslim guests.
Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary is more than just a birthday party. With new shows, refreshed visuals, and enough food and merch to keep the celebrations going all day, it’s a thoughtful update to a park many already know well.
For Muslim travellers, it’s also a chance to experience the Disney magic with comfort and convenience — complete with halal-certified dining, prayer spaces, and inclusive facilities that make the visit stress-free from start to finish.
Whether you’re chasing nostalgia or planning your first visit, this year offers something that feels both familiar and fresh — a celebration where everyone, regardless of faith, can share in the joy of Disney’s 20 years of magic.
